Regulars here will know how much I admire Singapore.

Well, this is one more aspect of Singaporean society that I know will appear weird to those of us on the outside. But in Singapore, pairing up is serious business. So serious, in fact, that the government devotes precious resources and policy planning time to ensure that the next generation of Singaporeans are paired up and breeding before biology times them out of the procreation cycle.

You see, for a small nation with no other natural resource apart from her people, Singapore needs to ensure its population is replenished each year; clearly, it isn't. Which is why she recently launched an even more aggressive campaign to attract foreigners and/or overseas Singaporeans to the island state to set up home.

If there is one word to describe the Singaporean Government, it is simply: "Guts".

Bonking and babies are major issues in Singapore. You could say that their survival depends on them.
