Would someone please give this bloke a serious he-bitch man slapping and a taebo whack in the knackeries to knock some sense into him?

It is obvious that at 29, Ben Cousins still hasn't grown up to know what's right or wrong. And it is pathetic that his dad has to go clean up his mess, and fend off the media.

I used to feel sorry for Ben, but when he doesn't make the effort to help himself, that's when all bets are off.

However, on reflection, I guess some good could still be salvaged from this fiasco. All those kids out there who used to idolise Ben Cousins the champion Aussie Rules Footballer, should now see that drugs can ruin even a top athelete if they're not careful or make stupid choices.

Nothing dominates this town like a fallen football hero. In sleepy ol' Perth, Benny Cousins probably is like what Gary Ablett Snr was to Geelong in his heyday.

I have no judgment to make, knowing that drug-related issues are never simple, especially for the families mired in it. Suffice to say that it is very sad to see a young man, with everything to live for and then some, has now been snared by the scourge of illicit drugs.

For his and his family's sake, I hope Cousins will fight his demons and overcome them.
